There are plenty of places to stay around Johor Bahru, but choosing an Airbnb at Space Residency KSL City Mall, is almost always a safe bet. Everything is within walking distance—shopping mall, supermarket, cinema, spa and massage places, nail parlours, karaoke outlets, and many JB-famous eateries—making it an extremely practical base for a JB trip. No car needed, no Grab bookings, just walk downstairs and you’re sorted.

This is also why KSL City is so popular with both Singaporeans and Malaysians. It’s affordable, close to the Causeway, and incredibly convenient, with food, shopping, entertainment, and personal care all housed within one integrated complex. Prices for meals, shopping, and services are noticeably lower than in Singapore, which makes staying here feel effortless—and very value for money.

Today, I’m unboxing an Airbnb unit located at Space Residency KSL City Mall in Johor Bahru, and I wanted to share my personal experience—what I liked, what stood out, and a few things to take note of if you’re considering booking this place.

First Impressions

The moment I stepped in, the view stole the show.

Located on the 56th floor, the unit offers a stunning city view with a beautiful sunset and a partial sea view. It’s the kind of view you’ll stop to admire every evening, even if you’re already tired from shopping.


Why This Unit Stands Out

This is one of the most spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom units in the building. There are other (two bed-bedroom, two-bathrooms) units with different layouts, but many come with noticeably smaller bedrooms or tighter bathrooms. If space matters, this unit has a clear advantage.

The interior follows a Muji-style Japandi theme—warm, minimalist, and very calming.

  • The building itself still feels fresh and well-maintained

Final Thoughts

What I really liked about this unit is that every time I came back, it genuinely felt like home — cosy, comfortable, and very relaxing. After a long day out in Johor Bahru, it was nice to return to a space that felt welcoming rather than just a place to sleep. The water purifier and game console are definite plus points, as these thoughtful extras are rarely found in most Airbnb units. I also appreciated that both bathrooms come with windows, which made them feel more comfortable to use.

Combined with the spacious layout, modern design, and unbeatable location at KSL City, this unit works extremely well for practical travellers who value comfort, convenience, and good value for money in Johor Bahru.

If your idea of a good JB stay is walking everywhere, enjoying city views, and coming back to a clean, modern space—this one is definitely worth considering.
